Cascade

I took advantage of a brief lull in the rain to walk along the river footpath. This cascade is at the edge of a housing estate that was built a few years ago and is part of a flood prevention programme, which I think was a condition of the planning consent. The wall on the right is the first home.
Normally, the water is stagnant.
Not today.

Fortunately the river levels have dropped, because a lot more rain is forecast for the next few days...
