An ice cream kind of day?
Warmer today, and sunny, but not a truly hot summer's day.
Adam returned to Cambridge last night - in true Adam fashion, he was going to return at lunch time, then early evening...finally left home at half past midnight to drive back to Cambridge! We are used to his odd hour keeping by now.
Luke joined me to go grocery shopping this morning - not very exciting stuff for him except he is a great foodie and so enjoys choosing things he likes to cook or eat. Supper tonight is being made by him, Asian style salmon with pak choi - yay, I don't have to cook! (Instead will tackle the mountain of ironing)
Talking about ironing, last week at Gavin's office they had a therapist come talk to everyone about mental health issues. He said one of the most important things to stay positive and not get depressed is to do exercise, even if it is just going for a walk every day, and to have a strict routine in one's life including doing certain chores that are part of one's weekly routine - like ironing!
I took Luke to Kingston this afternoon as he needs some new black shoes for work, but it was a fruitless exercise. I find these days that shops no longer carry the range or stock that they used to, and it is preferable to shop online. I seldom go to the shops to buy anything anymore, and with the terrific postal system in the UK it is so easy to shop online and return unsuitable items. The retailers complain about online shopping killing the high street stores but they don't entice the shoppers in with their limited stock. On the way home from shopping Luke found the perfect pair of shoes online, at a sale price too.
