Colour My Day
This is a large photomontage displayed in the hospital main corridor. It really brightens the day for patients and staff! Been wanting to blip it for ages... ;)
It celebrates the city of York's achievements in science and innovation. Sixty free public displays were to be found all through the city streets during last summer. You can still visit the website to find out more, including a link to a Flickr page showing all the displays.
I particularly like the story of John Goodricke (1764 - 1786) who was the first to measure variable stars as a teenager. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society at 21, although sadly he died the following year...
