Dunlewy Church and Erigal Mountain
Today was a bigger day in the saddle- both in terms of distance and hills- as we headed inland and up to and around Mount Erigal ( the second highest in Donegal)- shaped like a perfect volcano. I haven't really done its size justice by placing it as a backdrop to this rather fine church. On then and through Glenveagh National Park, created from an estate which was itself derived from the forceful eviction of hundreds of tenants, and down to Milford- a small market town, where we stay in a small house created by Thomas and Mary for his mother from a shed conversion. And no, those sheep in the next door field aren't Thomas and Mary's. They belong to his cousin.
