Sulphur Crest stripping bark
by CALLY
Yes, it's from the backyard tree again. I 've been watching the sulphur crests feeding their young , which are now pretty much adult size themselves. They make an endless wheezing sound when they are demanding to be fed, sitting beside the parent on the branch and craning to meet beaks for the transfer of regurgitated food. I saw one parent then tear a strip of bark and pass it to the offspring to chew. However, for the blip,? I've chosen a photo of a solitary bird stripping the bark. I liked the way its crest is lit up by the sun and the way it's clinging to the branch. These birds are real acrobats.
