"Happy Holiday" Basket

In mid-December the two of us walked through a "thrift" store while we were visiting California's Central Coast. This is one of the "recycled" treasures that I purchased; okay, maybe it's not a treasure; how about "doodad"? I knew the basket would be a great spot to place the Christmas cards that arrived daily in our mailbox.

We're still receiving cards; several arrived in the mail today. I love getting real mail, and I especially enjoy the little handwritten notes.

One year ago this evening we were at the wedding of Brian & Kayla (see the photo at the bottom of my page). I was looking at FaceBook a little while ago and Brian & Kayla have posted that they have returned to the Mission Inn this evening to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. This past summer the two of them moved to Montana to complete their degrees in architecture, and earlier this month, they became the proud owners of a condo close to their campus. They've had an amazing year. They flew back here to southern California on Christmas afternoon to be with family and to celebrate this anniversary evening by overnighting at the Mission Inn.
