A magnificent milestone

B celebrated her 100th birthday today. A long life well lived. She still lives in her own home (well supported by carers). Her nephew had arranged an open house for her today and when I called in she seemed to be having a steady stream of well wishers. Here she is with her cake and her card from the Queen, she also had a hand written card from the Archbishop of York, John Sentimu, which her nephew’s wife had organised!
Then this afternoon was the village gala, fortunately the rain held off for the parade and the first two hours and we were treated to a fantastic fly past by a Lancaster bomber. Truly a special day all round.
