Snowy run
We had almost no snow here in Maine last winter. Today we woke up to a winter wonderland. My sister is in town from NYC and we both strapped on our handy Stablicers grippy shoe ice cleats and hit the road. The wind was in our faces as we ran down toward the light house where the water was crashing over the sea walls at high tide. At first the snow was a little icy and pelty, but as we rounded back home it was lovely and quiet and beautiful. Well worth the effort.
My dad wrote in a poem when he was just a small boy:
it's a marshmallow world when it snows...
