Iolaire Buoy

A cardinal buoy, indicating safe passage to its south, has been placed in the channel to the south of the Beasts of Holm. At night, it gives six flashes followed by a 10-second long beam of light. Had this light been in place on New Year's morning 1919, the crew of the Iolaire  would have realised the danger they were in much sooner...
