Dales Delights

Post gymnastics, C and I headed up to Grassington with Jeni & Hannah to introduce H to the Dales, and for training for a marathon length walk she's doing in the Lakes next month. 

First stop was the bakery for supplies, then we headed to the top of the village, across the fields to Hebden, then dropped down the valley to Burnsall, stopping at the river bank for a picnic, and a swim, for me anyway! It was chilly after all the rain and cold weather we've had, and quite hard work swimming back upstream. A spot of rain and we were packing up ready to continue our walk, but it soon passed. Until.. so I'd just dried out and we'd left the river bank to climb up the other side of the valley when the heaven's opened. The cows rushed for cover, we just got soaked!! It was pretty much heavy rain all the way back to the car then. Home for a bath & a warming curry.
