Looking for a tasty morsel!

This poor heron had no peace this morning. 

There was a swim/activity taking place up at the loch ..... a sort of triathlon without the cycling as bikes are not allowed. The safety boats were out just in case any of the swimmers got into difficulty.

Every time the heron settled the boat came to close, a swimmer disturbed the calmness of the water or a runner got too close. After one or two futile attempts to feed among the vegetation the heron flew back to the island.

After a rather dull, damp start the weather has improved a bit this afternoon.
