Going off with a Bang

A successful fireworks display for Matariki, (Maori New Year).  Usually we are sitting right under the fireworks, but this year I decided to view it from a distance.  A bonus is that the lake was nice and calm, so got the displays reflected.  The first extra is of the pyrotechnicians putting the fireworks display together.  The second extra is of the hangi cooking.  The other extras are the fireworks that missed the cut.

It has been another gloomy day, starting with a ground fog, which lifted to a cloud inversion.  It hasn't been cold, +11.  But I have had the fire going all day.
