Hawkweed lawn
Another afternoon at the Walled Garden - digging into a soil heap and pulling out all the roots and other junk, mixing it with compost - Lidl gives them all their split bags - and filling up my newly edged bed. Felt knackered afterwards - I've got out of the habit of heavy labour! Still, it looks good and now I can leave the runner beans to grow in peace!
On the way to and from I pass what I thought was a flower meadow at the front of someone's house, but when I stopped to look I think it might just be a lawn which has been untended for years, as the orange hawkweed were seeding around the house in the gravel too. Still, a pretty sight.
