Elephant on parade...

On display at Manchester’s Piccadilly station is the skeleton of Maharajah, an Asian elephant. It’s a rather sad tale of an elephant that was part of a travelling circus.
He was eventually sold in Edinburgh and walked, with his keeper, the 200+ miles to his new home at Belle Vue zoo where he remained for the next 10 years.
He died at the age of 18 and his skeleton was acquired by the museum where it went on show.
Looks as if Maharajah is on the move once again.
