Common Malachite Beetle
A day of data entry followed by an early evening walk round Thorpe Meadows. Feeling very summery - the hay meadow flowers are reaching their zenith and there were lots of insects about including the characterful Common Malachite Beetle - not easy to photograph in low light levels with a stiff breeze! This predator is very common in southern England, particularly favouring meadows and rough grassland.
