Sumer Is Icumin In..........Not
If ever there was a day when a visit to the seaside was not advisable, then this was the day. The rain was constant and the buses packed with wet people with the joyless air of those being denied a sunny dry summer’s day ......again.
Had it not been for the promise of a meet up for coffee with Joppa Strand and Tiggy, I might have curled up on the settee with my knitting and tried to ignore the day, but I am glad I made the effort to brave the elements and travel down to the Beach House café to get all their news and eat a scone of rather wonderful proportions.
Needless to say the beach was almost devoid of dogs and people and even the Beach House had empty tables. The café suits its name when the sun is shining and people are sitting outside admiring the sea view, but it’s name doesn’t have the same allure when the outside tables are sodden, the sea is grey and wild in the easterly wind and Fife has disappeared into the mist and clouds. Tomorrow may be better- hope springs eternal in the human breast!
