My topsy-turvy life

By Rathmandu

Hay, what's that?!

We opted for going to the Family Fun Day at Battlefield 1403 just outside town. As well as the usual craft stalls and fooderies there was a bouncy castle, horseshoe painting, archery, pony rides, farmyard animals and a bale maze.

He's a bit small for most of it still but we had a good time exploring the bale maze here (and trying to eat it) and meeting the pigs and goats. Owen got some slippers and we got some ice cream (which we now have to hide from him if he's not having any). We had a look around the farm shop (for sausage rolls) and the Battlefield Exhibition (Owen had a play with some chainmail).
He'll appreciate it all a bit more next year.

The farm shop stands on a site rich in history. Over 600 years ago one of the bloodiest battles was fought here. Today Battlefield 1403 is a bustling farm shop, butchery, deli, café and exhibition. After visiting the shop at Battlefield 1403, walk off one of our delicious sausage rolls with a walk around the boundary of the 100-hectare battlefield.
