CURLY LEEKS

After several days of eating richly, it was time for a wholesome vegetable dish, but even the leeks were curling up in a festive manner.

To Largs for a brisk walk in the North wind. Even the ducks were lying low in the water and tucking their heads under their wings. There was some snow on Irish Law, and we came back over the hills in a minor blizzard. No views of Arran today. And no Nardini's either. Just home for some veg soup and a mince pie...sorry, did I mention healthy eating?

Preparations are underway for a big family party on Saturday.
