Storm in Biscay

We had to leave the safety of Bilbao as the berth was needed.
Our Captain decided that the safest course would be to head west along the Spanish coast under the relative shelter of the Picos mountains rather than heading north into the infamous Bay of Biscay where the swell was up to 9 metres!
By noon we needed to head north to get back on course for home and hit a smaller 5 metre swell!!
It was very uncomfortable although we did not feel in danger and the ship was well loaded and pretty stable given the conditions.
I didn’t eat much! And was glad to get some rest by nightfall.
Must be better tomorrow!!
