Enough!
I’m usually a happy poodle, trying to look at things from the bright side. But now I have to say - enough is enough! I’ll let mum tell you.
Five days ago, an extremely powerful detonation went off downtown in Linköping where we live. It destroyed two hundred and fifty homes partially or totally, twenty people were injured and several blocks now resemble a war zone. It was a miracle that nobody was killed. The bomb was placed in a freight tricycle.
This morning when we went out for early morning walkies, we discovered that our whole neighbourhood had been cordoned off. A police officer was standing guard at the police tape just across the road from our house. She told us there was a suspicious package near the police and courts, which is just a stone’s throw from here. The National Bomb squad had been called to the scene. Schools were evacuated, all businesses and workplaces were closed. No one could come in or out of the area. Lots of fear and anxiety.
After seven hours, the barriers were removed. The bomb squad robot had destroyed the package, which turned out not to contain any explosives. It’s believed to have been placed by a copycat.
Once we could get out, we drove to the garden centre and got a few things for our balcony. It’s been a very strange and different day. I was scared but mostly I was angry. How can people do things like this?? I hope they get caught really soon and that there will be no more violence in our city.
