Here come Summer!
It’s the first day of our summer break, and guess what, it’s raining.
View from our B&B in North Norfolk.
Fortunately a very warm welcome from Allison. Greeted with tea and homemade cakes. Fruit cake for MrC and carrot cake for me. Delicious as always.
After a very good drive down, even if a bit wet, we stopped at Brancaster Staithe for a crab sandwich, and cockles from the little hut on the quayside. Unfortunately because of the bad weather it was closed, so went on the the White Horse, where we had fish soup.
Not the best we have had. Rather watery. So when the waiter asked MrC if we had enjoyed it, the answer was “ No, rather watery and lacking flavour”.
He returned and said they were sorry and wouldn’t take any payment. Mr C spoke to the manager, who was very apologetic, and still insisted we didn’t pay, either for the soup, or my glass of wine.
However I did leave the money for the wine.
It certainly wasn’t our intention not to pay.
We called in at Cley Norfolk Wildlife Centre, where we had tea and cheese scones. No chance of seeing much as it was too wet.
However we have had a delicious meal at Byfords in Holt this evening.
Now feeling very full.
Should sleep well.
Hope tomorrow’s weather will be dryer, but not looking good at the moment.
Still as a friend said, just enjoy the food and drink!
We will certainly do that!
