Calne (Tuesday 11th June 2019)

I got very wet today, and so did the house as the power cut out earlier, briefly.
These wall plants grow in an alley that leads from New Road by the library up to Church Street. One of them is clearly some kind of fern, but I haven't a clue what the other is. They make an attractive pairing, I thought.

The new 50th Anniversary edition of Aoxomoxoa additionally has a second disc of previously unreleased live recordings from the Avalon including Alligator, probably my first favourite Dead number when I knew it on Anthem Of The Sun, their previous studio album to this. This cuts out rather suddenly as it goes into the next track on the CD. I spent some time this afternoon listening to CD1 of this on headphones, as well as some live Bob Dylan from 1966 and Ornette Coleman's free jazz from 1960. It's been the sixties here at the Old Forge!
