Destructive Progress

Work continues on the demolition of our pier. Meter by meter, the crew is breaking up the concrete and working towards the shore. This is our last day before heading to what TripIt tells me is an 82 day visit to the United States. I took one final trip around the bay, checking on the various construction projects visible from the water, before deflating my paddle board. I'm sorry I won't get to see the pier completely removed (I'm curious as to what will happen to the pilings), I imagine by the time we return the first of September a good part of the new pier will be in place and this one will be a distant memory (except of course for these photos).
