The only pole

The whole week there has been digging - the cables are going underground, EVERYWHERE................. except outside Mom's house.

Here there is a pole.

Okay, there are also wires underground, but they are exiting the ground and being hung on A POLE.

This is the only pole that has been put up.  Not just in our street, in all the streets I surveyed, whilst walking my fitbit. 

Why are "WE" so lucky ?  I don't know.
