Red rose
What a day - it has rained heavily all day, I cannot remember when I last saw so much rain. Certainly not a day for taking photos outside, so this was an emergency indoor shot of some roses I bought last week. My roses in my garden are looking beautiful at the moment but it was far to wet to take photos of them.
This morning I had a doctor's appointment, nothing serious, just a check up. It was with a new specialist and I was very pleased with the advice and treatment I received.
Then I went to Guildford to celebrate my friend's birthday - we always get together for her birthday lunch and this year we went to a tiny little cafe where I had a selection of salads and a butternut muffin (not really a muffin, it had no flour in it)
Driving home I could barely see as the rain was lashing down so much. I was pleased to spend the afternoon indoors and not on those wet roads.
Thomas wrote a difficult maths exam today. It was the STEP exam (sixth term examination paper) and it is a university exam used by Cambridge and Warwick universities as a pre-entry requirement for their maths degrees, although anyone can write it. As Thomas is reading engineering he was not required to write this exam but he decided to do it anyway as he loves maths....
The weather is not looking good this week. I have my last ever arts society event on Wednesday, which is a cycle tour through London, and the forecast is for rain - which is not much fun when on a bicycle. I am frantically doing my rain dance...
