ruchill hospital
This is Ruchill Hospital (or was). Built in the neo-Jacobean style in the 1890s as a fever hospital in the north of Glasgow and now standing vacant with its future undecided.
A bit like Eldest Son. He and I are at Murano Street to pack up his belongings. He had to withdraw from his course for medical reasons, but hopes to start again in 2013. While I do my blip, he is on his laptop completing his UCAS form.
The hospital site was earmarked for a housing development with refurbishment of the old buildings, but the recession put paid to that idea. Then the council planned to demolish it, but these plans were, thankfully, overturned.
Now we wait to see what the future brings...
