Why didn't I take a book
My task was to pick Mr P up in the Langdale Valley at 13:30. He was acting as a support walker for Joss Naylor's challenge. This is a challenge for the over 50s; you get a set time to complete 48 miles, 30 peaks and a total of 17000 feet of climb across the Lake District. If you are over 65 you get 24 hours. Mr Ps friend Derek started at 11pm last night. Mr P joined him at about 7am to walk leg 3. I waited quite some time at this vantage point. Here is Mr P, having left Derek somewhere over the far hill, walking up the path at the end of his stint, two hours later than expected. Wish I had taken a book to read.
