Cheviot Trail Race

Today I drove through the Borders and into England to the pretty market town of Wooler. From there I was bussed back into Scotland to the wee village of Kirk Yetholm that marks the end of the Pennine Way.

Alongside 160 odd other eager runners, I set off on the 21k race back to Wooler over the Cheviots. It was a good route, with a couple of big climbs but the weather was fine and underfoot mostly dry.

I managed to cross the line in the top ten so fairly happy with that.

On the way home I stopped at Etal to look back to the Cheviots (the blip) and Flodden Field to pay my respects.
