Kochi, Japan

Back blip

Today’s trip was to visit two very different gardens.

The first is a Monet inspired garden in Kitagawa Village in Kochi, based on the garden in Giverny, France. It was absolutely stunning and breath taking. I have added extra photos to try to show the colour combinations. I could have stayed there all day.

Also a butterfly, no idea of what it is. I also saw a snake in one of the borders when trying to follow another butterfly. I haven’t added it as it’s not clear to see. It is significant for me, because a few years ago I would have been in a state of panic seeing it, not now!!!

We had lunch there and we were joined by a young lady who was on our coach. She is Italian and the wife of one of the crew members. We had a most interesting conversation about cruising in this part of the world and on happenings in Europe!!

We then visited the Makino Botanical Garden which honours the achievements of a local botanist. The pictures taken here are interesting but not as stunning as at the first garden. There was one rose picture which caught my attention.

The landscape picture taken there, which is in extras illustrates what we are seeing, lots of hills / mountains and the valleys / flat land accommodates the residential / commercial developments. Nothing is wasted.
