Pentecost Sunday

'Breathe on me, breath of God,
Fill me with life anew,
That I may love what though dost love,
And do what thou wouldst do'

Edwin Hatch (1835-89)

Came across this in a book by Pam Rhodes that I love, when I was praying about the sermon I was preaching today, and ended up using it in my Call to Worship (I didn't know I was going to be leading as well, til I got there today, so it was all a bit of a rush)...

Very happy to say I've got there and back with no troubles apart from my satnav refusing to stay on the windscreen.  I gave up in the end and put it on the seat next to me - luckily I moreorless know the way now :)

I had some lovely positive comments on my sermon afterwards.  I'd brought cake as Pentecost Sunday is the 'Birthday' of the Church, which went down very well.

After the service I I went to have a lovely roast chicken lunch with friend J, who will be back preaching again next month, so I'm not sure when I'll preach again.  We'll see! (however a lady who goes to the church is being baptised next month and has asked me to go to the service:))

Exhausted.com now as I didn't sleep that well last night, so a little r and r this afternoon I think before the rush of the week!

Happy Sunday folks :)
