Bakong
We take a car to some of the outlying temples today, the journey is as interesting as the destination, as we pass Khmer houses on stilts and quite a lot of pigs being taken to market on mopeds, not sitting up as pillion passengers either.
This is Bakong, which is part of the Roluos Group and one of the oldest temples in the area. It has elephants at the corners, which have lost their trunks over the years, but are perhaps faring better than the pigs.
We also went on to Beng Melea which was apparently the prototype for Angkor Wat. It's an amazing temple that's pretty much completely fallen down where you can climb through the ruins.
