The Remarkables

We went to do a walk today from the Remarkables Ski station. We knew it would be a gravel road to get there but had not appreciated it would go straight up the side of the mountain. (just off the far left of this picture). We got about half way up but they don't maintain the road in the summer and it proved to0 rutted for our little car and we turned back before it shook itself to bits. Although we still got quite a good view from where we stopped looking back down to Queenstown. So we spent our last day here chilling out by the lake. This is the more conventional view of the Remarkabless from Queenstown. They are well named.
