There seem to be several types of bee in the garden and I’m sure this is a Tree bumblebee which was first found in England in 2001, spreading rapidly to Wales and reaching southern Scotland in 2013. It likes to nest in tree holes, bird boxes or spaces in buildings and has become fairly common and as an invader it does not seem to be a problem in Britain and instead helps with pollinating plants.
