WWKIPD
Today is World Wide Knit in Public Day and it always coincides with our regular knit and and natter session. Unfortunately the weather was awful so we had a smaller group of 31 turn up for our regular session and then just 8 hardy ladies staying on for lunch and to knit (or crochet) in public. We went into the shopping centre for lunch but it was absolutely freezing so it was a good job they were all wearing jumpers they have knitted themselves. Still, we made the effort to take part and my extra shows me crocheting at the top of the stairs.
I did also crochet on the tram on the way to the group and left a few flowers around Manchester.
WWKIPD is always the same weekend as Parklife, a music festival, that takes place in Heaton Park and there is a certain uniform that the young girls wear - wellies, very short demin shorts, barely there bra tops and glitter! Today, however, the dress code was taken up a notch as we saw quite a few bums in thongs - and nothing else! Walking through the shopping centre at lunchtime and seeing bums hanging out everywhere was more than I wanted to see! With all the rain, they're going to be stood, frozen, in a mud bath - but perhaps that's part of the fun when you're young!

The good thing about being old is not being young.
