Eek!
A wander up the farm road with the dug. Approached by an old neighbour asking if we knew anything about bugs. Her hawthorn hedge was entirely covered in thick webs but worse than that it has been completely munched over a couple of days. Not a leaf left. The caterpillars were swarming all over the place. This year has been ideal for the caterpillars, last time there were swarms like these was 2010. The hedge should recover once the little beggars have moved on.
