Arch of Remembrance, University of Leicester

Built as a memorial to servicemen from Leicester killed in the First World War. The grounds where the uni stands were used to treat wounded soldiers in WWI & after the war ended, a fund was raised to create a living memorial, which was the University. Amazing what you can learn whilst “in a meeting”!
