The Grote Kerk Monnickendam

On the edge of the town of Monnickendam in the municipality of Waterland the Grote Kerk or St Nicholas church rises above the polders of Waterland. Although in many places, old churches usually form the focal point of a town, Monnickendam’s Grote Kerk was built on the edge of the historic city centre.
