Glow worm

The Glow worm Lampyris noctiluca, isn't a worm at all, but in fact a species of beetle, the females of which glow in the dark to attract males. I think this one is actually a well developed larva which also glow weakly, and if you look carefully you can see the pale patch on the underside of the abdomen which lights up.
Glow worms are fairly frequent in Surrey and Sussex, but not encountered all that often,
I have added another shot of the beautiful Barstard balm in my extras for you to enjoy.
