Spotted Orchid

It's a spotted orchid, but whether it's a Heath one or a Common one, I don't know!  Suddenly, after all this rain, there are a lot of them in flower along the field edges.  A nice surprise, because it's usually the dark purple ones we see, rather than these very pale ones.

Working in the shop this afternoon I met two very keen knitters from Seattle.  We chatted for ages, they were so enthusiastic about everywhere they had been and what they had seen - and bought!  Lovely folk from Cumbria and Dalwhinnie too.  A really enjoyable afternoon.
