Metal work....

When I started seco dary school (40 something years ago) I was able to choose to do 2 out of the these 4 subject.... Home economics, sewing, wood work and metal work. As I could already cook and sew I chose woodwork and metal work. There were 2 girls in each class in a class b to boys disgust.

I wanted to take metal work for O level (as it was then) but the school wouldn't allow it... Apparently not the done thing for a girl!!!

Today, while visiting my parents, I was reminded of all this when I spotted the hook set I made for my dad... It was the first thing I made in metal work and he still has it and uses it, as well as the hammer I made next..... Wow still hoi g strong after 40 years.
