One Woman and her dog

The calm AFTER the storm

After another day of sporadic but torrential rain showers, I took every opportunity between them to play with my new toy. I dug out my tripod and enjoyed a very peaceful half hour watching the birds stuffing their faces in the respite from the rain.

Because of the weather, Jake and I have had 3 shorter than normal bimbles. First one was to the oldies a couple of miles along the back road to feed their cat and remove all evidence of hunting. The second was a 3 mile bimble round the village (with Jake on a lead much to his disgust) when I popped out shopping. And then our final one over the hill to feed the horses.
Now, anyone with an ounce of sense would have worn the appropriate footwear considering the weather, but nooo, I just bumbled up the hill in my trainers since they were on my feet anyway. Jumped a huge (and now I know DEEP) muddy puddle only for my foot to slide gracefully out from under me and for me to land with a very unladylike SPLAT in the middle of the puddle. As if that wasn't bad enough, Jake thought this looked like a wonderful game and just as I was in mid-rise hit me full pelt on the back and I again landed (only this time, face first) back in the puddle.

Never have I been so glad to live in the middle of nowhere. Only witnesses were a dozen horses and a very dippit dog.

And to the person who is currently laughing their head off at this - IT WISNAE FUNNY!!

Off to shower. Toodle-pip one and all!
