Breaking Camp
The camping trip with my sister and her grandchildren has had to come to an end. It was a morning of packing up and taking the tent down. But not before stories in bed and breakfast outside, enjoying the sunshine!
Aneeta (5) is fast learning to read and is enjoying reading her own books and sometimes reading them to those around her. It was very appropriate that she read THIS book to Humphrey the bear. And reading it in bed. Although not a red bed. Jasmine (3) listened in.
Because we were staying only a little over an hour from my sister’s home, my brother-in-law kindly came to help fold up the tent and get everything back in the car (and his van). Unbelievably, we had a short rain shower just before the tent was folded up, so they didn’t get it packed properly - just folded loosely and put in the van, ready to be dried out at home.
Getting Alfie the Campervan packed up and ready to drive takes numerous steps, but is still much easier than packing up a tent!
We left at noon and I joined everyone for a pub Sunday roast dinner near my sister’s home. Aneeta and Jasmine’s parents joined us as they were there to take the little girls home to London. It’s been a really fun few days - though exhausting! I was in bed by 930!
