The Passing
Out to Sheila’s after a fitful sleep which is so very unlike me. We had a good couple of hours chatting away and she pulled out an interesting book of notes her mother had down in Salford in WW1 where she was a nurse. Full of verse and drawings by recuperating soldiers.
Later along to meet Libby & Denis and indulge in some quality time doing the year end club accounts with tea and shortbread.
And then a call from Sheila - old Fred had passed away at 6pm. I sent a few messages out to his daughters and others who knew him.
Later, a small gathering at the Diggers - MrW and I were a bit surprised that it was five years ago that we’d taken Fred across the Forth. I guessed two - he thought maybe three. Time flies, right enough.
