DDay Rehearsal April 1944

The above blip shows the beach and a Sherman Tank - used in a Rehearsal off Slapton Sands on the 28 April 1944 - which resulted in a tragic loss of life of American Servicemen - the Exercise was called Exercise Tiger - the Sherman tank in the picture was recovered from the sea - however lessons learnt ensured success on DDay 6 June 1944
