White with a bit of pink

I changed round my days off this week so I could be with Mary for a very stressful meeting today. Afterwards we went for a coffee and (extravagant) cake to celebrate having got through it. I had planned to try every single cake in the local specialist chocolate and cake cafe in the run up to my planned (semi) retirement but after trying the white chocolate, pistachio and dacquoise cake today, I am having second thoughts - even after sharing a piece of the cake with Mary, I felt it had been too much.
