D Day 75

Have been glued to the TV coverage this afternoon of the Daks over Duxford on their way to Normandy to commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day.  The flight path took them close to Southend seafront but I wasn't able to get there today but did stand out on my roof nearby in Essex on the off chance I'd be able to spot them in the distance and was very happy when I spotted a number of them - shame I don't have a super zoom lens on my little Lumix to get a closer pic! Still a special moment to witness and to remember and say thanks to all those heroes who served and didn't make it home
