Sky Bar

Rainy start to our last full day in London - train to London Bridge then tune to Leicester Square for a quick peek in the Lego shop before heading to Foyles bookshop on Charing Cross road. Could have browsed for hours and spent a great deal of money but we managed to restrain ourselves.
Treated ourselves to lunch in Dishoom near Long Acre - delicious but we slightly over ordered so I was glad of the walk up to Holborn to get the tube to the adventure awaiting us - War of the Worlds Immersive experience. It didn’t disappoint in being full of Jeff Wayne’s great music and actors playing all the main characters - we really were transported back to 1898 and the terror of the Martian invasion! There was a lot of virtual reality which I hadn’t experienced before and was very impressed. Unfortunately Mr PHL’s sets didn’t work a couple of times so he missed the ending. The management have offered 2 free tickets to return another time but yet to see this come through in writing.

We then met a good friends son who is working for the civil service in London (in the Belrexut dept no less!) who took us to the Sky Bar on the 35th floor of the Walkie talkie building- stunning views and free to enter.
Dinner is a wonderful BarBQue restaurant near Tower Hill and home well after midnight.
Slightly jaded this morning but onwards and upwards as we are heading back north with a stop in Knaresborough overnight.

Thank you for your continued comments and the lovely stars.
