But is it art?
Started the day by feeding H&J's bull terrier (Bullet), cat (Sandi) & 2 meerkats (Sharky & new one I don't know the name of). They thought that they had locked the garage door from the inside by mistake and that we would have to climb over the gate and through the dogflap to get into the house. In preparation we arrived with an unwilling F, who was the smallest and most probable to get through the dogflap & an empty colddrink bottle to keep bullet busy while we attempted to get into the house. It turned out that the garage door was not locked rorm the inside and that we could get into the house without climbing over or through anything. We needed the bottle though.
Spent the rest of the day in Clarens, a little town about 30km from Bethlehem.
It was always a tourist town with loads of artists and gallerries & a few "catering establishments". The tourists were mainly from Gauteng & bikers on weekend breakfast runs. Now it's swarming with foreign tourists with about all the houses changed to B&B's and even a Protea Hotel. Guess it's a good thing, but everything is over priced, which means that the locals can't afford to spent money there anymore.
Every third shop is a restaurant of some sort & the ones in between either an art gallery, clothing shop or gift shop with the odd furniture shop thrown in.
There is still good art & unique pretty things to look at though. If only I had enough money - to buy & to get my treasurses home!
Day started off chilly, but turned out sunny & warm.
