Allium gigantium

I’m not sure if I’m really enjoying these Allium. I planted 3 together to underpin a border of grasses either side of the main path. They’ve done everything which could be expected of them having reached over 4 ft high with great lollipop heads but they leave me cold! The bees, however, love them!
Busy day preparing for visitors and weeding in the afternoon and evening avoiding heavy rain showers. A huge digger arrived in the field next door to clear the undergrowth so that our stone wall could be rebuilt. The builder is on holiday so can’t carry on with steps and paving. I cleared lots of giant weeds from the burn beds and planted Salvia patens around the borders. Also found some Verbena bonariensis seedlings which are now recovering in the greenhouse.
