Wakehurst Place - again!
We are very lucky to live in area surrounded by wonderful National Trust properties and this morning we enjoyed a brisk walk round the grounds of Wakehurst Place. This view is of the 16th century country house from across one of the ponds where clearly the ducks missed the visitors feeding them yesterday.
In October 1987 20,000 trees were lost in the devastating storm including a magnificent specimen Dutch Handerchief Lime tree. However, it opened up lots of new areas and the walks in any part of this fantastic place are marvellous. Today we saw lots of evidence that spring will be coming ....but not quite yet!
